Autumn in the garden

There is now the colour of autumn in the garden as well as the chill in the air and the shortening of the days.

The berries look stunning
The sedums always give an autumnal splash of colour

Shadow and Sugar continue to be a tight pair. They have settled in really well and now mingle with the rest of the flock more than they used to. They have also come to enjoy all the treats.

The chicks peck at a bit of apple
Always together

I am very happy with the way these two lovely girls have fitted right in with the flock.

They are growing up fast. I am pleased to see no growth in their combs though so am confident that they are girls. Your Bubble must be growing up too. Could you e-mail a photo. I would love to see how she looks now. xx

Lovely colours in the garden – the torrential rain has really hammered my winter hanging baskets.

Chicks looking really good and the sound of cheeping is really appealing and you miss it when they’ve grown – one of my silver sussex is showing comb and wattle development and they are now 17 weeks.

We didn’t get round to winter hanging baskets this year. There has certainly been an awful lot of rain.

I love to hear the chicks cheeping. I am pleased to see no comb development as of yet. Do you think your silver sussex may be a cockerel?

Glad for you that they are girls. I have 3 roos and only need 1, lol. I have grown sedums for years too, sometimes that the only one that gives me color. Have a wonderful day.

Oh Dear! I wanted older chicks to be certain that they were girls but I still feel reassured as time goes by and they still look like girls. I love the colour of sedums in Autumn. Good to have you along. You have a great day too.
