First snow

Last night we had our first snow of this winter. It snowed for about an hour and settled. This morning it was still here.

Looking down the garden

I’m not quite sure why I found this a surprise but somehow I wasn’t expecting it. I don’t think it will stay around for long.

Snow here in the north east, but disappearing today with temperatures above freezing and set to continue to rise tomorrow. Drinkers frozen night before last, but I remembered to bring them in, so easier job this morning. At least the wind has subsided, but the medium-term forecast is for more snow, even at lower levels in the south. As long as our families and our girls are all right!

I always think that we in the South come off lighter than the rest of the country. We did have the winds but no damage done compared to other parts of the country. Lots of frosts and very cold but although the garden birds water froze the more sheltered chicken’s water hasn’t frozen so far. It is forecast to be warmer from tomorrow. As you say as long our families and our girls are okay.
