Yesterday and again today it rained, non stop, all day. Despite the run being roofed it can’t cope with this amount of rain. It blows in and drips in and only the dust bath circle of soil stays properly dry.<\/p>\n

I get fed up of the run being wet and feel sorry for the girls with their muddy feet. Even the covered patio area is half wet. In the summer we are going to see if there is anything we can do to the run roof panels to help keep more of the run dry.<\/p>\n

I put the girl’s spinach in the square container today to keep it off the wet and muddy patio.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t too successful as the spinach leaves are small enough to fall through the wire but Rusty seemed to like it though.<\/p>\n

A little later Rusty was making good use of the dry dust bath area.<\/p>\n

Later in the day Speckles, Peaches and Barley were in the shelter once more.<\/p>\n

This is the first time I have managed to get a photo of all three of them in here as they usually run to me when I go in the run. I just had time to get one snap before they jumped out.<\/p>\n

Once more Speckles is more sensible and stays further in where it is completely dry. These three girls have made the shelter their own at the moment and the little girls don’t get a look in.<\/p>\n

I am tempted to make another shelter but that will be a project for another day. Tomorrow’s forecast is looking better with some dry weather ahead which will be most welcome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
