The first crop of the year from our veg plot

For the last few days I have been picking broad beans ready for our Sunday dinner. Broad beans are always the first crop from the veg plot and the first ones always seem to be the nicest.

These will make two meals for the two of us. I am looking to them for dinner tonight.

I am jealous.. Mine are a waste of space. The black fly had a good meal on them though . Also on my peas .
My strawberries though more than make up for the loss .
Yours do look good though and there is nothing nicer than the first crops.

    • Your strawberries are lovely and so sweet and juicy. We had them after lunch on the day we visited your allotment.

Black fly is always a problem on broad beans. I am looking forward to eating the first crop tonight, it’s always special getting the first meal from your own veg.
