My husband’s project

We have recently got rid of a chest freezer which we kept in the shed and this has freed up some space. We have also sold a few catering items. This is all part of the plan to slightly downsize our business.

This meant my husband now had room in the shed to build a work bench, which he had wanted for a while. He then picked up a free pallet from a neighbour in case we needed it for a mixer that we had put on ebay. In the end the buyer lived nearby and collected it so my husband decided the pallet could be up cycled into a work bench.

I think this bench will get a lot of use and make future projects much easier. It has also made good use of a free pallet and parts of the pallet have also been incorporated in the little girls perch in the chicken shed and in the wooden table shelter. Not a bit got wasted.

Very good. Is’nt it nice to be married to a handy man.

    • It is nice. When I wanted a perch for the little girls and I wanted to make the wooden table into a winter shelter, I had the ideas but not the skills to put them into action. I describe what I want and Richard gets it made.

Ah, to be handy. It’s lovely.

He’s certainly talented, and can turn his hand to anything! Wish I were half as capable – with me, it skipped a generation: my father is still really good and my middle son has taken after him. I’m putting together a run with a top tomorrow and suspect that the air may well be blue by the time I’ve made several major errors!

    • It’s funny because Richard said that no one would be interested or would comment on this post. I told him that wouldn’t be the case and I was right, it has lots of comments. He thinks it is not a talent but I love that he can always modify something to suit our particular need. Everyone makes errors though and I am sure you will get the job done perfectly well. Let me know how you get on.

I think Richards a star . Not only is he a DIY man but is there for you . You can tell him I said that .
