As I said in my last post I find it difficult to understand why there is so much squabbling at bedtime between the girls when during the day they are such a tight group.
At lunch time I was doing a sweep up of the patio and all eight girls joined me on the patio but I didn’t have my camera with me.
Later in the afternoon they were all in a huddle by the favourite table. I’t been very cold and windy today and this is a favourite spot for the girls to gather. Speckles always takes up position behind the table. I think being bottom girl the table makes her feel safe.
All the girls are fluffed up against the cold and look a bit dejected. They miss having some sun to sit in as do I. Roll on spring.
Haha, I was expecting wings out to actually hug each other with that title! ?
My chickens do that to, we have a lean-to that they’ll huddle under when it’s cold. They still demand to go outside though!
That’s funny because my husband said that I should change it from group hug to group huddle as it can’t possibly be a hug. I said that I liked it as it is because it is a metaphorical hug as far as chickens are concerned. They too like that spot because it is sheltered from the wind by the fence. I guess all chickens are alike really in their behaviour.
My three are all sat fluffed up out by the patio doors with the warmth from the house.
They do know how to find the warmest spot don’t they! Our regular robin in the garden was also sat on the fence so fluffed up that it looked like a little round ball.
